Please read these Terms carefully before using our services. Your attention is particularly drawn to the disclaimers in Section 1 and the fee structure and refund policy in Section 4.

1. Our Service: VR/5 Vehicle History Report

Important Disclaimer:
vehicleinformationservice.co.uk provides a VR/5 Report, which is a vehicle history report for the vehicle registration requested. This site does NOT tax your vehicle.
 
We are not the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) or any other government agency, nor are we affiliated with them. We are an independent, private service provider.
 
Our service does not facilitate the purchase or renewal of vehicle road tax. To tax your vehicle directly, please go to https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax.
 
Our service includes the generation and delivery of a vehicle history report (VR/5 Report) based on the vehicle registration mark (VRM) you provide at the time of purchase.
 
These reports are designed to provide you with historical and publicly accessible information about a specific vehicle, which may include details such as:
  • Vehicle road tax charges and payment options
  • Vehicle make, model, and colour
  • MOT status and history
  • Tax status (as publicly available data, but we do not action tax for you)
  • Scrap markers (if applicable)
  • Other publicly accessible vehicle data
  • Vehicle valuation where available

2. Eligibility

By using our website and services, you represent and warrant that you are:
  • At least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
  • Providing accurate, current, and complete information as required to generate your report
  • Aware that our service provides vehicle history reports and is not a service for purchasing or renewing vehicle tax

3. User Responsibilities

As a user of our service, you agree to:
  • Provide Accurate Information: You are solely responsible for ensuring that the vehicle registration mark (VRM) you provide is accurate. We cannot be held responsible for reports generated based on incorrect VRMs supplied by you.
  • Understand Service Scope: You understand and acknowledge that our service is limited to providing a VR/5 Vehicle History Report. You will not use our service with the expectation of purchasing vehicle tax or interacting with a government agency.
  • Comply with Laws: You will use our services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Safeguard Account Information: If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login information.
  • Review Your Report: You must carefully review your VR/5 Report upon receipt.

4. Fees, Payments, and Refund Policy

Service Fee Structure:
  • A one-time payment of £17.85 will be charged for the generation and delivery of your VR/5 Vehicle History Report.
  • Payments are processed securely by third-party payment providers. We do not store your full payment card details.
  • Your report will be delivered electronically (e.g., email or secure download link), typically immediately after payment.
  • Your bank statement descriptor may appear as vehicleinformationservice.co.uk
 
Refund Policy:
  • Report Not Generated: Full refund if we fail to generate your report after payment.
  • Report Delivered: Once delivered, the service is complete and non-refundable.
  • If purchased in genuine error and reported within 14 days, we may review and issue a refund at our discretion.
 
This applies even if:
  • The report contains information you already knew
  • The report does not include expected details (if based on available data)
  • You believed the service would tax your vehicle
  • You entered an incorrect registration
 
Errors on Our Part:
If we generate an incorrect report due to our error, we will correct it or refund you.

5. Data Sources and Accuracy

Our reports rely on third-party and publicly available data. We do not guarantee completeness or accuracy and are not responsible for errors originating from those sources.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, reports, and materials are our property or licensed to us. You may use your report for personal or internal business use only.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any part of our service without permission.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:
  • Use the service unlawfully
  • Misrepresent our service as a government or tax service
  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or damage the website
  • Introduce malicious software

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee accuracy, availability, or uninterrupted service.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid (£17.85)

12. Severability

If any provision is found invalid, the rest remain in effect.

These Terms form the entire agreement between you and us.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the site means you accept any changes.
